You can turn any room into a mini-planetarium with this portable,
build-it-yourself kit. The Star Maker includes a projector,
6-foot-diameter dome, and instructions. Suspend the dome from a ceiling
support, position the projector underneath, and gather your students in the
dome. The revolving globe will project the stars onto the dome and re-create
the heavens as seen from anywhere in the Northern Hemisphere. Initial
assembly, which includes punching holes in the globe for the stars, will
take four to eight hours. The students can help with hole punching.
