A vital part of learning is hands-on and experiential. This guide is designed
to lead you and your students through educational experiences that will last a lifetime.
There are hundreds of entrances into the wild world that surrounds us; don’t wait
for nature to come to you and your students. This guide contains all the information
you need to plan an academic field trip, including checklists, maps, cost and the
programs and facilities available at each site. Detailed descriptions of 23 sites
describe what to do in the classroom before and what to focus on once you get there,
including possible themes from the Science Framework and key concepts.
Thirty-five other sites are described in shorter detail. The guide also includes
general field trip activities, and two indices to cross-reference habitats and geographical
regions with the sites.
